Tianrui Qiu / Qiu Tianrui
I am a first-year Mechanical and Electrical Engineering student at the University of Bristol, based in Bristol, UK and Shanghai Zhangjiang during breaks. I learn fast, enjoy turning ideas into physical prototypes, and focus on CAD modelling, robotics, MATLAB analysis, and practical AI tools. Full project evidence is available on this site.

I do not want self motivation to stay as a claim. My two open-source AI Agent projects show how I turn repeated engineering-learning problems into usable tools: video-transcribe-skill uses Python, FFmpeg, and local Whisper to turn unsubtitled tutorials into transcript evidence, while codex-agent-custom-instructions documents how I use coding agents with clearer assumptions, smaller edits, deterministic scripts, and verifiable results.
I am building a foundation in mechanical and electrical engineering through coursework and hands-on projects. My current focus is CAD modelling, mechanical drawing, robotics, vehicle electronic chassis, Python, MATLAB, 3D printing, and practical AI Agent workflows for engineering learning.

Open-Source Codex Skills Projects
Built two open-source AI Agent projects from real engineering-learning friction: Python and FFmpeg turn unsubtitled tutorials into transcript evidence, and a bilingual rules checklist makes coding-agent workflows clearer and easier to verify.
First-Year Design Portfolio
Built a first-year Design portfolio as a full design communication chain: hand construction, Fusion 360 modelling, software technical drawings, a 14-item parts list, and an interactive web GLB model.
Robot War Society Project
Worked on a 150g-class compact flipper robot for BEEES Robot Wars, turning CAD layout, 3D-printed structure, electronics packaging, serviceability, and arena feedback into the next iteration priorities.
High-Power LED Cooling Analysis
Built a reusable fan-coupled MATLAB heat-sink solver, validated the trend against 25/35/45 mm lab data, and connected cooling behaviour to LED system efficiency judgement.
